RAFTER BLANKET

These beautiful woven blankets embody the natural colours from my flock. They have a lovely weight and are a great size, perfect for snuggling under. The ecru is from my Portland sheep and the hazelnut from my Castlemilk Moorits. Woven by The Bristol Weaving Mill, their amazing team interpreted my Rafter design so synonymous across my knitwear into a woven pattern unique to Katie Cotmarsh. 

These blankets are extra special though, because they are part of a big community weave project. The mill used one warp for more than 20 different farms and brands together on one weaving run. It allowed the mill to use up their leftover British Wool yarns and we were able to access big scale weaving at a more accessible price. Although the warp is shared, each designer or farm takes their own section along the run to use their own yarns and pattern on the weft.
