OUR FARM

There is nothing like assuring the quality of your raw material than growing it yourself. But as the farmer producing my own fibre, I don't just look after the quality of the material, I have 100% accountability for its environmental impact too.

Great Cotmarsh Farm is located at the foot of the Marlborough Downs in North Wiltshire, abutting the North Wessex Downs National Landscape. We farm in a way that supports nature recovery, improves soil health and produces nutrient rich food. We don't use chemicals or synthetic fertilisers. Instead we manage our farm by trying to understand and work with the natural resources found in a functioning ecosystem.

nature + soil

The farm is certified organic with the Soil Association and we are committed to working with the restorative power of grazing animals on pasture through our certification with Pasture for Life.

In the next two years we are planting over 1km of new hedgerow as well as more than 6500 trees in an exciting agroforestry scheme in partnership with the Woodland Trust. This will not only increase habitat for wildlife, but enhance the health of our land and livestock.

education

The best place to share about regenerative fashion systems, is standing in the field where you can feel the life in the grasslands and see the bees on dye plants. We have a farm classroom dedicated to supporting knowledge sharing around regenerative systems for food, fashion and rural craft. We work with school children, fashion students from GCSE right through to MA level and are working on programmes to support the farming community too.

You can find out more about our farm classroom on our Great Cotmarsh Farm website.
